Brooklyn Townhouse Restoration

This project is a careful reworking of a Greek Revival townhouse, restoring what mattered, and rethinking what didn’t. The exterior, weathered but fundamentally intact, was meticulously refurbished to recover its historic character. Subtle interventions bring additional light into the home.

Inside, years of fragmentation had left the layout disjointed. The renovation reorganizes the interior into a cohesive single-family residence. With only two and a half stories, the program is tightly compressed with each relationship calibrated for perfect fit. Original elements — including fireplaces, the primary stair, and ornamental details — were preserved and restored, set against a new, quieter backdrop of natural materials and restrained contemporary updates.
